The rolling thunder saga continues!

With our team finally "turning the corner" this season, we've recently
found ourselves making a break for the league's top position. Over
the last month, we've improved from 8th place to 3rd. Gunning for
second place, nick rolled a 242 on Tuesday. Amazingly clutch!
Unfortunately, Austin and I bowled like idiots and blew it. I never
came closer than 29 pins to getting my average. Ouch. Anyway, next
week will be better, and redwood city will never be the same.

Red bull soap box rally

Red bull held their soap box rally competition on Saturday in dolores
park, just 2 blocks away from my apartment. Contestants built cars
over the last couple months and performed a skit to theme music before
embarking on their journey down the hill from 20th street to the
finish line 18th. Powered only by gravity, the cars reached max
speeds of over 35mph. Jumbotrons throughout the park showed us close
ups of the cars, skits, and wipeouts. A panel of judges scored each
run, and the race was televised at 4 local bars as well. I was
surprised to see so many people show up, but it was a beautiful day.
We saw about half of the racers, then left for brunch. :)

A big sail.

Sailing

Here's a pic from a couple months back of our group at work going
sailing. It was great to not have to commute down to south bay for a
day of work, and it was beautiful cruising the San francisco bay with
the group.

"Bob's smog test only"

I just renewed my sticker and this year I needed to get a smog test
done. Here's a pic of bob himself giving my cavvy a run for it on the
dyno. He put a probe in the tailpipe which measures particulates and
heat and drove my car through all the gears for about 5 minutes. His
place only did testing, and not any catalytic converter work, hence
the "smog test only" in the name.
