Rudy's menu (can't fail)

Inside 'Rudy's can't fail' diner in emeryville

Located right next to pixar, rudy's stands alone as the breakfast
jewel of emeryville. Great eats and punk Rock' references all over the
place ala the clash and the 'specials'... They're opened late and
have cheap PBR also. Nice.

Reverend's still got it.

Jenny and I went to the great American music hall this week to check
out the rev and jimbo kick out some punk/rockabilly tunes. It's been
a while since I've seen him (10yrs!) but he still rocked the place!

Cavvy turns 100k!

Still going strong, and 100% maintenance free so far, I'm extremely
happy with my car's 7 years of service. It's time to finally change
the spark plugs!

Basteeya (cut open)

Morrocan basteeya

Jenny and I teamed up for out most ambitious culinary creation yet! A
morrocan basteeya, a fluffly filo dough baked pastry filled with
saffron infused chicken. There's powdered sugar and a layer of almonds
within the pastry that give it an incredible taste. It took acouple
hours to create, but was great to make and share!

Cherry pickers!

I drive by these lifts each day on my way home from the train
station... I finally snapped a photo.

Santosh's new toy

Santosh visited the city a few weeks back, and got to show off his new
toy, a nikon D90. Here he is taking pictures near the golden gate
bridge.

Sold my old bed!

What's even more exciting than getting a new bed? Selling an old
one! I got $100 for this old bed, which was exactly what I had paid
for it about a year ago. Great success!

Guess who got a new bed?

Because my old bed had a horrible tendency to sag, I decided to go a
little crazy and purchased a ridiculous tempurpedic deluxe bed.
Economy what? Stimulus who?

Anyways, I didn't want to use my old bed, which lacked a center
support so I went ahead and purchased a brand new bed at cost plus.
The bed i happened to like the best was a canopy bed. Very .ahem.
manly... Princesses, puppies and rainbows rejoice. Here's jenny
riding in the back of my cavvy... Unbelievably, the queen sized
canopy bed fit just perfectly! (jenny had to squeeze)

Christmas flowers and quiche!

Jenny whipped up some quiche for christmas using thad's all-butter
crust recipe. Apparently, it was a hit! I sent jenny this christmas
boquet of flowers.

Christmas at grandma's!

Here's olivia spinning around in grandma's basement. I have childhood
memories of spinning around and around on this very pole until I felt
dizzy. :)

Olivia opening presents!

Vegas baby!

It was surprisingly cheaper to fly 3 legs with a couple days in vegas
than to fly roundtrip to Detroit. Luckily, I got to meet up with mike
and Jessica for a night in vegas before we all flew back to Detroit on
the Sunday night red eye. Apparently, chances are high for getting
bumped up into a suite when you book for a single night in the down
season. Fortune smiled on us, as mike and Jessica and I all got free
bumps to suites. Here's a pic of theirs at the pallazzo, it was
insane! Rappers must have parties here! The outer balcony alone was
bigger than my apartment. :)

Kelvin's last day at work.

Kelvin was the newest member in our group at work for thr lsst 6
months, but unfortunately he had to move on to another rotation back
in illinois. We'll miss you kelvin!

Jenny's first time in the snow!

Dapri and lidia get married!

Jenny and I made our first trip out to Fresno, a land hailed by most
as the armpit of California. It's a 3+ hour drive from the city, but
it was a fun drive and a beautiful wedding. (long though!). We had a
great time drinking and dancing with friends, and got some breakfast
on our way home. It was interesting talking to the folks at
starbucks, none of which had any idea of how we might drive back to
San francisco as far as highway routes. Surprisingly, many had never
been to sf, only living 3 hours away.

The rolling thunder saga continues!

With our team finally "turning the corner" this season, we've recently
found ourselves making a break for the league's top position. Over
the last month, we've improved from 8th place to 3rd. Gunning for
second place, nick rolled a 242 on Tuesday. Amazingly clutch!
Unfortunately, Austin and I bowled like idiots and blew it. I never
came closer than 29 pins to getting my average. Ouch. Anyway, next
week will be better, and redwood city will never be the same.
